It's been another consistent day for Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard, finishing the two Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix V8 Supercar support races in fifth and third place.
Continuing on from a similar result in the first round at the Clipsal 500 that left him second in the V8 Supercar Championship, Coulthard and the Lockwood Racing VF Commodore again showed great race pace.
Starting seventh in the first 10 lap race, he calmly moved up to fifth while in the second 12 laps, some aggressive racing netted third spot - providing a strong platform for the following two races across the weekend.
"We've improved the car a fair bit over the past two days. We can always make it better but when you're out there you have to manage with what we've got. In practice the car was hard work so we were a little bit behind the eight ball but we've been chipping away and it's getting there. We didn't have answers to the qualifying problems in Adelaide but we had a good race car. If we can match up the qualifying pace to race pace we'll be in good shape."
Both races today were won by Tekno's Shane Van Gisbergen.
Another 12 lap race takes place tomorrow at 3:25pm before a final 12 laps on Sunday.
