THE TRACK

Winding its way around the Sydney Olympic Park complex that hosted the 2000 Olympic Games, the Sydney venue is a real mixture of corners and track surfaces. Its designers, including the five time series champion Mark Skaife, have focused on creating a real challenge for the drivers, with a variety of bumps, camber changes and fast and slow corners making it difficult to complete the perfect lap.

SLEUTH STATS

- Fabian currently sits sixth in the championship, which was his best ever finishing position in the championship in 2013. He could repeat this again or go better… Shane Van Gisbergen isn’t too far in front, but Jamie Whincup isn’t too far behind!

- Every single Sydney 500 race has been decided by less than four seconds. The biggest winning margin remains 3.9087s which was when James Courtney beat Michael Caruso in Sunday’s 2009 race.

- Has gone 10 races without a podium finish – his last was at SMP in August.

- Nine different drivers have won the 13 Sydney V8 Supercar races that have been held in 2009.

- Fabian has never finished on the podium at the Sydney 500 – just 3 top ten finishes from 13 races since 2009. However Fabian has claimed 9 of the 10 podium finishes the team has had this season.
