THE RECAP

It was all about moving forward today for Freightliner Racing. A rocky start to the day saw Tim complete 5 laps of practice when something failed with his engine, forcing him to retire from the session and the team working quickly to replace the engine in a little over an hour. Tim went out for qualifying and was set to start from an unusual 19th position. He moved forward more than others during the race, which was not only a mix of solid driving, but the fastest pit stop of the race and a good pit stop call from the team.  A solid end to the day for Freightliner Racing, with the crew eager to push further forward tomorrow.

THE WORD FROM HEAD ENGINEER – ANDREW EDWARDS

“We pitted quite early in the race and were the first people to complete their compulsory pit stop. We had the fastest pit stop of the race which was really impressive and great work by the team.”

“We took the gamble that the car would be good over the longer stint on its tyres, which is a BJR trait that our cars do look after the tyres well. I think Tim did a really good job to hold onto that front group ad he made up the most positions of anyone in the race. We’ll try a few different things tomorrow to get Tim further up the field.”
