THE RECAP

Qualifying was déjà vu for Tim today, again finding himself starting from 19th on the grid today. With Tim moving forward more than anyone in yesterdays’ race and scoring the fastest pit stop, the longer 200km race is exactly what Tim needed to go better again. The heat was turned on in the wild west today, so the race was really about how teams could manage their tyres. With a lot of teams on different strategies, some moved forward, others didn’t. Tim was one who did move forward despite struggling with the balance of his car. He finished in 17th and is looking forward to getting back to Winton in two weeks time. This is BJR’s home circuit where Tim dominated with a pole position and two race wins last year.

THE WORD FROM TEAM BOSS BRAD JONES

We didn’t quite get the balance right in the car today. In yesterday’s race we gained a few positions by pitting early but today we struggled a bit. We missed it a little bit with the setup and today was hotter which made it even tougher on the tyres. Tim drove the wheels off the car and does a great job of managing his tyres really, really well. We’ll go home now and regroup, looking forward to getting back to Winton in two weeks.”
