It was all about the comeback for Tim Slade today, after a disappointing qualifying result, Tim was on fire in today’s race and steered the Freightliner Racing Supercar through the field to be the biggest mover of the day.
Tim scored the fastest lap of the race, with the Freightliner Racing Commodore recording a 1:09.8397s on lap 22. The team were encouraging Tim on the radio throughout the race, commending his driving and passing on the simple Queensland Raceway circuit. Tim moved forward a whopping 13 spots to finish the race in 6th, a stellar drive that he and the Freightliner Racing squad can be proud of today.
In just under two weeks the Supercars will be racing under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park! This will be a night-time race on the Saturday evening, kicking off just after 7pm for 300kms, flat out around the Sydney circuit.
Plus, Freightliner will be hosting two Sydney based Big Boys Toys nights in the lead up to the event, at Daimler Trucks Huntingwood (Wednesday) and Stillwell Trucks dealerships (Thursday), kicking off at 5:30pm both evenings. Come along to meet Tim Slade and see the Freightliner Racing Commodore before it hits the track!
THE WORD FROM TIM
“That was amazing! The Freightliner Racing Commodore was such a great car to drive today, the guys gave me such an amazing car for the race. We’re not sure exactly what it was but that was awesome, we’ve thrown plenty at it the last couple of rounds and it has been frustrating at times but I’m super happy with that result.”
“It’s so nice to reward the guys with this result today, they put in so much hard work, a lot of hours and they are awesome at what they do, so its great to get this result for them, Freightliner and Alliance Truck Parts today.”
