Top Ten Shootout

Pole Position: Fabian Coulthard

Race One – 250kms/78 Laps

Finished: 17th // Winner: Scott McLaughlin

THE RECAP

The first race for 2019 was finally here and massive crowds braved the heat to watch the Supercars take on the opening 250km battle around the streets of Adelaide.

The Freightliner Racing team decided to go with a early pit stop strategy which saw Tim pit on lap one, then again at the half way mark; making it two very long stints behind the wheel.

With no safety cars in sight a third and final stop was needed for Tim, when the team realised there was not going to be enough fuel for him to make it to the finish line. Tim pitted, and re-joined a lap down. As there were others sitting a lap down, Tim was able to claw back some lost time and pass Richie Stanaway; but didn’t have enough time to get back on the lead lap. He brought the Freightliner Racing Commodore home in 17th.

Knowing the speed is there in the Freightliner Racing Supercar, Tim will be aiming to qualify inside the top ten tomorrow and make the top ten shootout before the final 250km race here on the streets of Adelaide.
