RECAP AND WORD FROM THE DRIVERS
It was a great finish to the Melbourne 400 weekend with both Tim Slade and Nick Percat moving forward during today’s short and sharp 70km race.
Both Freightliner / Alliance Truck Parts racing drivers crossed the finish line for the fourth and final race in 7th and 10th respectively. The result also solidifies them inside the top ten of the championship, with Tim in 5th and Nick in 8th.
The Supercars will have a two week break now before heading into the one and only double-header event of the season, the Tasmania SuperSprint on 5-7 April, then straight back across to Phillip Island on 12-14 April.
“It’s been a positive and promising weekend for us at Freightliner Racing. Qualifying inside the top ten for each race then finishing 6th, 8th, some champagne finishing 3rd in the third race and today finishing 7th. It put us in 4th in points overall for the weekend and we leave sitting in 5th in the championship.”
“All the team did an awesome job as usual and it was great again to do it in front of the Freightliner/Alliance Truck Parts group we have here with us this weekend. I’m looking forward to getting to Symmons Plains for the next one in a few weeks’ time.”
“It’s been a good weekend for the Freightliner / Alliance Truck Parts team, with Sladey grabbing a podium yesterday and we’ve had both cars inside the top ten for the last two races. It’s been a positive step forward for the team, I feel like we are one of the leading Holden teams at the moment and it’s a big thanks to our team for their efforts in giving us some fast cars.”
“it was great for Tim and I to both be representing Freightliner and Alliance Truck Parts on track this weekend, the cars look tough and to have a front row grid lockout yesterday was unexpected, but pretty cool!”
