RECAP

Fans lined the hills of Barbagallo Raceway for the final night race here in Perth. With an impressive fireworks and lights display to get the night underway, the attention soon turned to the Supercars as it was time for the drivers to put on a show.

Tim finished inside the top ten in todays practice session, putting him straight through to the second qualifying round. The times were extremely close today, with Tim narrowly missing the top ten (0.0039 of a second to be exact!) to progress into the third round, so he was set to start from 11th.

The viewing hills of Barbagallo circuit were filled with fans for the final night race, which saw only one safety car on lap 50. A mix of cars had completed their final stops, with Tim completing his the lap prior, then any other drivers who hasn’t made the final stop did so, and it was a race to the end! The order shuffled again and Tim brought the Freightliner Racing Commodore home in 11th. He sits 9th in the drivers championship, and the BJR duo of Tim and Nick Percat sit third in the teams championship.

In just over a weeks’ time the Freightliner Racing team will head to their home circuit, Winton Motor Raceway to complete their second test day of 2019. They’ll be back there again for the next (and sixth) round of the Supercars championship on the 24th-26th of May.
