It was a sunny start to the Ipswich SuperSprint event, with drivers on track for two practice sessions today. For Freightliner Racing’s Tim Slade, he didn’t get a final run on new tyres in the final practice session, so will be putting them to use in tomorrow’s knockout qualifying sessions. The result of 14th and 20th today not showing a true reflection of the Freightliner Racing Supercars abilities.

The focus for drivers during the weekend races will be getting as much speed as they can through the long straights and maximising the braking zones. Whilst the ‘paperclip’ circuit is simple in layout, the drivers need to attack every corner just right.

The drivers will have a further practice session tomorrow before taking on qualifying and the first (120km) race of the weekend. All the action can be seen live on FOX Sports with a highlights package available on TEN. Check local guides for times.
